Preparing to Celebrate the Lord’s Supper
This Sunday in worship, the church will celebrate the Lord’s Supper together, from our homes. We will continue our sacramental traditions with modifications to celebrate communion around tables in our home, adjusting for online worship. Participation is optional, just as people can choose to come forward in the sanctuary or receive elements that are passed among the congregation. If you choose to participate in the sacrament, here is a brief guide to prepare you to celebrate communion as you worship with the church online:

  1. Have a plate with bread of some form. Small loaf, a slice, pita, roll, gluten-free, any kind that you have available is appropriate. Have a piece broken for each person who will participate.

  2. Have a small cup poured for yourself and each who will participate with you. Fill each cup with a small amount of juice, wine, or water. Jesus turned water into wine, by God’s Spirit our water may be so in the sacrament as well.

  3. One practice that can be meaningful is to make your own bread. If you would like two easy recipes for bread click here for a yeasted receipt (requires a few hours) and a skillet bread (short). Both would be great for communion.

Online Giving is Now Available

Online giving using credit and debit cards is accessible from the church's website. Note that it will take you to a secure site created by our service provider. A button is on the top-right side of the website or you can click here to access secure online giving.

Giving Our Pledges & Offerings

In this time of “stay home, stay safe” practices, ongoing financial support allows the church’s ministry to continue.  The Finance Committee shared a letter with the congregation with quarterly statements at the beginning of the month. Click here to download and read the letter. The church’s leadership is thankful for the faithfulness of your giving, and especially in this difficult season. If the economic situation has changed your financial circumstances, please continue your ministries of prayer and communication. In the church, when we give our time, talent and financial resources, it is often our practice to dedicate our offerings.

For this, Pastor Matt offers this prayer: Holy God, bless the gifts we bring to you in energy, resources, and relationships. Let them be signs of your love because we know we are loved. May these gifts be received with compassion as we seek to life the world up with compassion. May our offering give life to others as we are grateful for the life you give us, in Christ our Lord. Amen.
