GROWING WITH JAPC

CHILDREN & FAMILIES

Every week, we welcome children to experience their faith nurtured in a safe and friendly environment. Bible stories are engaged with imagination. Crafts help us experience the meaning of faith in tangible ways. Games help us grow as a community of faith. Music guides us to praise God.

SUNDAY SCHOOL

Children in kindergarten through 6th grade participate in worship and then are invited to meet their Sunday School teachers near the front of sanctuary at the "Tower Entrance" during the passing of the peace to go to Church School together on the second floor.

SUNDAY NURSERY

Located on the second floor next to the Sunday School Room, the nursery has a professional childcare provider alongside volunteers who provide a safe and nurturing environment from 10:00 AM to 12:30 AM on Sundays. Faithful play, songs, and stories are shared with our youngest children by those providing care.

FAMILY PANCAKE BREAKFASTS

Before Advent and during Lent, families gather on a Saturday morning to play, enjoy a pancake breakfast, and enjoy one another while learning about an a practice of faith that the family can do together.

FAMILY SUNDAYS

On special Sundays through the year, our Director of Children's Ministry Kathy Chateau creates prayer stations, crafts, or activities for the whole family of God to enjoy together during Coffee Hour after worship. While focused on the formation of children, these are enjoyable for parents and grandparents to enjoy with children and youth.

CHILDREN ARE ALWAYS WELCOME IN WORSHIP

Children are always welcome in worship. They are welcome to stay with you in worship. We understand that children wiggle and make noise. Adults do as well. If you prefer, you are welcome to bring your infant or toddler to the second-floor nursery. Older children are invited to leave worship at the end of the announcements for Church School. You can meet a teacher at the door. Also, take note that Children’s Worship Bags and Children’s Story Bibles are available at the entrances to the Sanctuary. Feel free to pick one up for your child in worship.
